Frequently Asked Questions
Does the DînTour game follow a particular trend?
The DînTour game is rooted in the Sunni Islamic tradition.
Its objective is not to defend a particular movement or group, but to transmit the fundamentals of Islamic religion, history, and culture based on recognized sources.
The game remains deliberately broad and accessible, avoiding divisions and polemical debates.
What themes are explored in the game?
The DînTour game addresses several major themes:
The Life of the Messenger of God: From birth to death, his companions, his wives, his greatest victories, and also his moments of sadness.
The history of the Muslim world
From the death of the Prophet ﷺ to the contemporary era, including the rightly guided caliphs, the great Muslim dynasties, the Crusades, and major historical figures, up to the period of decolonization of the Muslim world.

The objective is to transmit useful knowledge while remaining fun and accessible.
Why is a die used when some hadiths mention its prohibition?
The prohibition of dice mentioned in certain texts is what jurists call a tahrîm li ghayrihi, meaning a prohibition linked to what accompanies it, and not to the dice themselves.
Historically, dice games were associated with several forbidden things:
games of chance
gambling and betting
wasting time unnecessarily
arguments and anger
distancing oneself from the remembrance of Allah
In DînTour, none of these causes are present.
✔ there is no money or betting
✔ there is no chance in the answers
✔ the game is entirely educational
The game is a remembrance of Allah in itself.
The dice serve only as a means of movement on the board, just as one could use numbered cards or other systems.
